Students who choose Providence Christian College are seeking to respond to God’s call to service to others in their lives. As part of its educational mission, Providence desires to develop this attitude of gratitude and service in its students and provides students a variety of opportunities through May terms, Avodot, local work projects, and the student led SWAT (Serving With A Testimony) Club.

The Avodah Program is one of the distinctive features of a Providence education that few colleges can match. While service and mission trips are an intricate part of this program, many other forms of cultural engagement and worship are also vital aspects of Avodah as well.

Students are encouraged to involve themselves in the many Mission Trips and Local Service Opportunities outside of The Avodah Program at Providence. Students have worked with His Nesting Place (a home for single mothers), local homeless shelters, and local schools in a variety of service works. Because of their own passions in this realm, the students have started the SWAT Club. In Serving With A Testimony, the students carry out the vision of the college by ministering to the community around the college.
